ROOKIE BILLY FORBES CONTINUES TO MAKE HIS MARK WITH THE SAN ANTONIO SCORPIONS

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks & Caicos Islands; Monday, July 21st 2014 - Billy Forbes the Turks & Caicos International continues to make his mark for the San Antonio Scorpions in the North American Soccer League (NASL).

On Saturday 19th July he landed the opening goal of their match against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the 23rd minute and then added his NASL leading 5th assist of the season just before halftime.

The Scorpions ran out as 2-0 winners over the Strikers, which moved them to the top of the NASL’s Fall Season table. The game was played in front of 6,958 fans at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas.

Billy, who is a forward/striker – has appeared in World Cup Qualifying matches for the Turks & Caicos Islands and has played collegiately at Lubbock Christian University in West Texas. Prior to signing with San Antonio he played for the Premier Development League’s Southern West Virginia King’s Warriors, where he scored seven goals and added three assists last season.

Chris Bryan, President of the TCIFA said: “Billy is continuing to do well in his rookie year with the Scorpions and is showing all our younger players coming through our Academy system what can be achieved with dedication and hard work. We are immensely proud of him.”
